I am referring to several different “Behind the scenes” about the movies we all know. I think these videos are very informative and interesting.

It is easier to understand how exactly 3D Animation movies are being created when you get a chance to peek at what is happening behind the closed doors of production.

1. A mini film lecture about several major scenes in Frozen, and walk through them.  You can see the progress from the first rough […]

MISTAKES to AVOID WHEN LEARNING 3D ANIMATION

4:12 AM|

The last class I took was the Art Evaluation class. In the very beginning we had to pick a discipline, such as Animation, Compositing, Rigging, Set Up or Lighting and Shading. I chose the Animation.

I had to say, that I had hard time deciding between Compositing and Animation. I still want to learn more about Compositing, because it is such a fascinating field to be in.

But I stopped at animation. And then we were given two projects to work on for a month. The goal of the class was to […]

ALPHA CHANNEL MAGIC

6:32 PM|

Alpha Power

Imagine that there is a little chip in your body, which can make you visible, invisible or partially visible.

That’s exactly how Alpha Channel works. If the image has Alpha channel in it, then this channel becomes a mask and can control the transparency of the image.

I have to say I was very confused with Alphas for a while. Especially considering that Photoshop and I didn’t have good relationship until I got to school. And one day I just sat down and took my time to understand it. And […]
